Sophie, great Blog! So what exactly is a “rigging chaser?” I had to ask. By the way, cell towers (or mobile base stations as you call them in the U.K.) use quite a lot of power. In fact, cellular carriers are very tight lipped about exactly how much energy they consume and they do not divulge this information. Cell towers generally have separate electrical meters and the monthly invoice goes to the Mobile phone company, not the landlord. As the cost of oil increases, so does the cost of electricity, and the cost of powering a cell phone tower. If you have a way to reduce a carrier’s monthly electrical costs by 10% or more please let me know.
